Dan Jones

Global Advocacy Lead

 

Dan joined Depaul International in November 2025 as Global Advocacy Lead.

Dan Jones is a global advocacy specialist with 20 years’ experience spanning advocacy, communications and policy roles across large and small charities as well as the UK civil service. He has focused on a range of issues both global and domestic, including global health, education, nutrition and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), as well as mental health, disability issues, child rights and treatment of refugees and asylum-seekers in the UK. He was previously WaterAid’s Global Head of Campaigns, with oversight of global campaigns on health and climate action as well as a leading role in strengthening the advocacy capacity and expertise of staff across the world.

Prior to WaterAid he was Head of Campaigns at international grassroots advocacy charity Results UK focusing on overseas aid to education and health and the strategic coordination of grassroots, parliamentary and policy advocacy. Before that he was based in Nairobi, Kenya providing strategic and organisational development support to Special Education Professionals, an organisation providing support to children with disabilities and their parents in informal settlements.

Dan has previously worked for national UK charities Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) and The Children’s Society, and for the UK Government within the Department for Transport, The Electoral Commission, and the Cabinet Office. He has a Master’s Degree in International Relations.
