On the 10th September 2021, longstanding supporters of Depaul International, Irene Forte and Felix Winckler were finally able to celebrate their legal marriage with family and friends by holding a pandemic postponed, stunning wedding ceremony and celebration on the beautiful island of Sicily.

The couple chose the Norman Catholic cathedral in the medieval mountaintop town of Caltabellotta for the ceremony. Afterwards, guests celebrated the marriage at Forte family’s Verdura Resort.

Instead of wedding presents being gifted, guests were asked to donate to Depaul International. The generosity of the guests has been overwhelming with over £8,500 in donations been received by Depaul International to date.

Jason Eades, Director of Fundraising at Depaul International, said: “We are so grateful for Irene and Felix’s continued support of our work. I know that they both share our vision of creating a society in which everyone, across the world, has a place to call home and a stake in their community. The money raised will support our work across the globe to help many thousands of people who are facing homelessness during these ongoing challenging times.”

Irene Forte said: “Felix and I were only too happy to mark our special day by appealing for donations from our guests to support Depaul International. We both feel passionately about supporting Depaul in its mission to end homelessness and change the lives of those affected by it.”

We cannot thank Irene and Felix enough for thinking of Depaul International, as a beneficiary for their wedding appeal, to mark their marriage. We wish them every happiness in their married life. We would also like to thank all of their guests who generously donated to support our vital work in tackling homelessness across the globe.
