An update on Famvin Homeless Alliance: a new chapter for our shared mission

On 1 January 2026, the Famvin Homeless Alliance (FHA) began an exciting new chapter as it became part of Depaul International. While organisational structures may change, our mission remains steadfast: to work together as the global Vincentian Family to end homelessness and ensure that every person has a place to call home. To ensure we remain close to our Vincentian mission, Depaul International has established a separate sub-committee of its board comprising members from different branches of the Vincentian Family to advise and direct things moving forward.

Since its launch in 2017, the Famvin Homeless Alliance has demonstrated the extraordinary impact that is possible when Vincentians across the world unite around a common purpose. Rooted in the example of St Vincent de Paul, FHA has connected branches, encouraged innovation, shared learning, and supported practical action in 80 countries to date. Through campaigns, partnerships, and grassroots initiatives, it has helped place homelessness firmly on the agenda of the global Vincentian Family.

The integration of FHA into Depaul International marks a natural evolution of this work. Depaul International brings extensive experience in supporting people experiencing homelessness, alongside a strong global network and operational expertise. By bringing FHA’s advocacy, collaboration, and Vincentian engagement together with Depaul International’s knowledge and infrastructure, we can build on the achievements of the past nine years and create an even greater impact in the future.

What will not change is the spirit that has always animated the Famvin Homeless Alliance. The commitment to listening to people with lived experience, fostering collaboration, promoting systemic change, and placing human dignity at the centre of all we do remains at the heart of our mission.

This is not an ending but a new beginning—one that combines the strengths of FHA and Depaul International in service of a shared vision: a world where everyone has a home and a place in the community.

Together, we will continue to turn that vision into reality.
