Fr Rooney is a Vincentian priest, currently working as Vice-President for Mission Integration at Niagara University, a Vincentian institution of higher education in Lewiston, New York, USA. Prior to that, from 2009 to 2017, he was superior of the international mission of the Congregation of the Mission in the Roman Catholic diocese of El Alto, Bolivia. He is the former international director of the .famvin Digital Network – the principal web communications network of the Vincentian Family and continues as its financial manager. He also serves in coordinating the mapping project of the FamVin Homeless Alliance.
