Depaul staff in London attended the opening ceremony for a travelling exhibition of photos of IDPs (internally displaced people) from Ukraine which reached the UK this May. Depaul recently expanded its homelessness services in Ukraine to support IDPs, with the help of additional funding from the  UK government’s Department for International Development.

Organised by the Embassy of Great Britain in Ukraine with the support of Canadian NGO Stabilization Support Services, it tells heart to heart personal stories of Ukrainian IDPs who have fled the conflict in Eastern Ukraine and Crimea. Every photo is an experience and a revelation of the unbreakable drive of the human spirit facing extraordinary challenges.  The project was successfully run in numerous Ukrainian cities this year and in Brussels in April. It was officially opened in London by Minister of State for International Development The RT Hon Desmond Swayne TD MP.
